Senior Pictures :: Derrik Enstrom

there are 3 very important guys in my life.  This is one of them.  This is my cousin Derrik.  He's a senior this year at North Central High School in Farmersburg, Indiana.  He plays football, basketball, and baseball.  He is graduating at the top of his class this year and has been accepted at Indiana University, DePauw University and many others...he is still undecided about where he's going to school but he knows he is going for Exercise Science.  Below is a few of my favorite pictures.  Keep in mind...the day we did these pictures it was about 30 degrees with snow flurries. :o)  We're tough!

Did you notice in the pictures he was wearing The North Face Slippers?  We both wore them to keep our feet warm. hehe

about life
on august 7, 2008 I was laid off from my current 8-5 job working as a receptionist at a doctors office.  i soon realized that it wasn't a door closing, but a door opening for me.  i started to work towards my dream of being able to live off of creating and designing for people.  on december 1, 2008 i opened my very own etsy shop.  there i sale anything from felt keychains to greeting cards to custom vinyl wall art.  in february  2009 I realized that it was time for me to make something of myself.  i enrolled at Indiana State University for Graphic Design, Web Design, and 2 dimensional art.  i received my acceptance letter in the mail in early March 2009.  that is the best looking piece of paper besides my marriage license. :o)  speaking of marriage...i am married to the love of my life  justin.  we are eachothers best friends and biggest fans.  we are always behind eachother in whatever we do. 

photography
i have always had a passion for photos.  not only looking at them but taking them as well.  i never thought it would be something that i could do professionally.  when justin and i started planning our wedding i would search online for hours looking at photographers work to get ideas for my own wedding pictures.  over the 8 months that we planned our wedding i fell in with photography more and more.  after working with Samantha McGranahan from The Roxy Studio i fell in love with the entire part of being a photographer.  i love the picture taking, the interaction with clients, and especially the part that you are taking part in something so special each time you look thru that lens.  that is when i decided i wanted to be a part of something special too.
